* exactly why cant they just be out in the wild:

*They look bored af lol poor things!

*I love it when animals hug each other
*Wow who's the old lady that won't shut up??? She's talking non stop! If I was this gorilla I would hang myself!!!

*Don't think too much of those stares they give. Great apes are prone to do that. Even in the wild, they are trying to understand their environment just like we would. In the wild they can stare at waterfalls and streams, as if they are wondering where that eternal flow is coming from, and what it means. And in the zoo, they are most likely observing us in the same way as we are observing them. With great apes, I'm pretty sure, interest, wonder and a certain sence of connection is mutual

*I used to think the DNA/gorilla thing was interesting but then I learned that we share 80% of our DNA with corn.

*I used to think having them in captivity wasn't right, especially in a small cage. I now think it's a good idea, especially with the more natural setting in which they're kept. 1.) If, god forbid, something catastrophic happens in their native habitat there will be others around the world to repopulate their species and 2.) it gives the unwashed masses a chance to see in person these amazing creatures. If that prompts you to do something to help them maintain their species then it's worth it.

* Poor gorrillas, they should be in the wild where they belong. Evil zoo keepers keep them for money, etc. I pray God have mercy on those gorillas.

*Wow. That gorilla's face reminds me of my grandpa.

*I'm tired of you people who are against zoos... do you not understand that all the animals they contain are animals that otherwise wouldn't survive? Do you not understand that the only reason they need money is to take care of all the animals? Zoos are amazing and your boycott of them is both ignorant and inhumane.
